Inspiración

Transformation Waco is the fiscal agent and manager of Inspiración. This local early childhood nonprofit operates at Alta Vista Elementary. The Spanish-dominant program prepares at-risk Latino children aged infant to four for kindergarten readiness while simultaneously providing classes for the children's parents.

Parents learn how to support education and social and emotional health in the home, connect with community partners and resources and acquire the skills to advocate for their children upon entering the school system. In addition to receiving onsite programming, Inspiración parents also have the opportunity to receive home visits from Parent as Teachers-certified parent educators. Parent educators provide one-on-one support and expertise in the home by monitoring the child's development alongside the parent, ensuring that children reach developmental milestones.

Since its inception in the 2018-2019 school year, Inspiración has shown continuous participant growth. In June 2022, Inspiración graduated its largest class of nineteen children and their moms to date. This growth is a testament to the work of the dedicated staff: Mirna Alvarado, Classroom Assistant; Eloisa Cruz Arredondo, Program Specialist; Carla Diaz, Classroom Assistant; Gloria Fitch, Parent Educator; Elsa Mata, Parent Educator.
