The Novice Teacher Academy

The Novice Teacher Academy (NTA) is a year-long professional development program for teachers with one-three years of experience. Transformation Waco partners with the Academy for Urban School Leadership (AUSL) to provide practical and applicable support to teachers so they can succeed in the classroom. 

Teachers embark on this training with a summer boot camp that covers fundamentals of classroom management, building relationships with students and co-workers and families, and strategies for setting up classrooms. Instructional leaders from Transformation Waco, campus teams and AUSL do monthly walkthrough observations with teachers who meet in groups to explore individual feedback.

We are working to improve teacher efficacy and increase educator retention. The NTA provides a community of support for teachers to learn from one another and share tools and strategies to be successful and drive student results.
