Transformation Waco’s Call For Action on Racial Equity

Transformation Waco exists to improve outcomes in five chronically low-performing schools through the lens of a commitment to justice and equity for all. We operate within four strategic priorities: performance management, talent development, support to students, and non-profit operations. While we have made strides towards racial equity with initiatives such as our Urban Educator Residency Program, parent and community engagement projects, and student support such as our TSI initiative, we have much work to do to dismantle racism and its impact on our students, families, and community. To accomplish our goals, we must engage in uncomfortable conversations, confront bias, and replace unjust practices with work that demands equity for all of our students. As the CEO of Transformation Waco, I am committed to creating actionable outcomes for racial equity within each strategic priority, and I am committed to providing the time and space for ensuring that we are actively involved in institutional change.

racial equity action research and planning process

We are utilizing Transformation Leaders Network’s Racial Equity Action Research and Planning Process Framework to advance equity and move towards racial justice. This framework requires us to ask tough questions, seek data to guide solution creation, and strategically design implementation plans. The ultimate goal of this framework is to improve student outcomes by creating zone-wide, systems-level change.
